A Timeless Moment of Love and Service: Angela and Delphine Visit SECHILD
BLOG

On November 3rd, 2025, SECHILD welcomed two remarkable women whose warmth, humility, and genuine love left a lasting imprint on our Center, Angela Frings of MIVA Netherlands and Delphine Soufo of The Leprosy Mission Nigeria. Their visit was filled with heartfelt moments, meaningful conversations, and hands-on care that beautifully captured the spirit of true partnership
Their first stop was our reception, where they were greeted with smiles and gratitude. As part of our commitment to accountability and transparency, both visitors signed our register, a cherished record of everyone who walks through SECHILD’s doors.
While signing, Angela looked up and shared words that touched every heart present:
“I have been reading so much about you and your organization on paper, and I feel it is really good to come see in person.” Her sincerity affirmed our mission in the most beautiful way.
From there, they toured our Centre, taking time to explore our spaces and connect with our environment. They later walked through the calm pathway between the Care Space and the President’s office, a quiet, meaningful corner of SECHILD that naturally captured Angela’s attention. Her peaceful presence in that moment was a reflection of everything the day meant.
But the most unforgettable moments came when Angela and Delphine spent time with the children.
They joined them in their play areas, interacted gently, listened to their sounds, responded to their gestures, and embraced the joy that fills our Care Space. Their kindness was unhurried and intentional, the kind of attention every child deserves. The children responded with smiles, soft touches, and curious eyes. It was beautiful to witness.
When lunchtime arrived, one of the busiest times at SECHILD because we feed the children in batches due to limited caregivers, both visitors immediately stepped in to help. With aprons on and compassionate hearts, they fed the children with so much patience and care.
Delphine lovingly fed Joshua, while Angela fed Isaiah.
There was a brief moment of confusion when Isaiah turned away from the spoon, but then we remembered: he doesn’t like blended food! Isaiah is our little chew-and-swallow champion, and once his food was changed back to regular rice with crayfish, chicken, and vegetables, he happily finished his meal. It was a tender reminder that in caregiving, the smallest details matter the most.
The joy continued when Angela visited our kitchen and saw the MIVA-funded solar system at work. Spotting the inverter with the MIVA badge, she exclaimed with excitement: “Aah! I see!!! I saw my name!” Seeing their support powering hope for our children made the moment even more special.
And to the children’s delight, Angela brought a thoughtful gift, a gesture that added warmth and joy to an already beautiful day.
Throughout their visit, Angela and Delphine carried the spirit of genuine service. They observed, they asked questions, they held hands, they wiped little faces, they listened, they smiled, and they gave their hearts. Their presence reminded us that care is a community effort, and when hands join together, compassion multiplies.
At SECHILD, we treasure days like this, days when love becomes visible, when partners become family, and when our children shine their brightest.
To Angela and Delphine, thank you for your time, your kindness, your support, and your open hearts. To our partners and friends, thank you for believing in what we do. And to our children, you remain our greatest teachers, today and always.
Here’s to creating more moments of hope, connection, and love #ForEveryChild.
